Approvals submitted to NRHA for Spring Slide and the Ride N Slide. Dates for this years Ride N Slide are June 3rd - 7th. Added to the Ride N Slide are the Rookie I and II and Novice Horse II. Ride N Slide I: Open $2000, Intermediate Open $1000, Novice Horse II and Rookie I & II and a Three Year Old Snaffle Bit. Ride N Slide II on Sunday, normal slate with AQHA and ApHC classes. All Green classes will be held on June 3rd and 4th, The $2000 open and $1000 Int Open will run concurrent on Saturday night instead of the FEI. There is a NRHA rule change; a show rep cannot be any relation to the show management. We asked Spike if he would be our show rep and he agreed.
STALLION AUCTION Four Horses have been sold. Peptos I Brow, It's A Bingo Greyhound, Brennas Red Pine Jack and Busy Commander. Checks were given to Beth for deposit. Derby is a go. Stallion owners can buy back breedings. Bids go on-line. Discussion for auction advertising in the affiliate part of the REINER ads are very expensive, but it would promote our local stallions and owners. Discussion on $150 to nominate stallion so they money can be used toward advertising. This money should be put in a separate account, possibly into a CD so that we would not spend it on anything else. Motion made by Jody to keep the money separate, seconded by Spike, all in favor.
CLINIC Craig Johnson said that he would do it if he was available. He needs to be booked and verified. This will be a CNYRHA clinic at Morrisville College.
NEW YORK STATE FAIRGOUNDS MEETING - Bill McGee, an Equine person wants our fairgrounds to be competitive with other state fairgrounds. He would like to made some renovations like putting something in the gateway for ad space for horse shows held in State Fairgrounds Coliseum. There is an open weekend in Oct the 23 24 25. Naomi wants to put on a championship show. Everyone that has qualified through all the shows, all disciplines, all breeds. There will be sand in the coliseum for our show as well as the warm up pen. No sand for the Apps the prior weekend. App reiners told the fairgrounds that they can rein on the rubber footing. All the reiners need to stick together on the footing issue or we will be pushed out of the Fairgrounds. There was mention that Rick Garber is going to put up $5000 to $7000 to the Breeders show for the reining. Why is he not giving his money for our Reinings?
The ESQHA has not received points to so they can name their High Point Reiners. Jennifer will contact Regina.
A motion was made by Jennifer Hoyt that we double point our ApHC points for the June show and add ApHC classes to another NRHA show so that the Apps will have a chance to qualify points toward theWorld show. Seconded by Bill Murray, all in favor. Motion carried.
